Motherhood Stories Make The Perfect Gift!
Looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Look no further.  “Not Your Mother’s Book (NYMB)…On Being A Mom“ is chock full of sweet, nutty stories, kind of like a box of chocolate, only less fattening.
This irresistible anthology is a collection of 64 funny, edgy stories about raising children, from birth to the empty nest stage, so there’s something for every mom. The authors span the country and share how they face the challenges of motherhood head-on with humor, ingenuity, and, more often than not, a good wine.  NYMB is sure to bring a smile to your mom, mother-in-law, or even yourself.
I’m proud to be one of the NYMB contributors, and my piece titled, “The ABCs of ACTs,†is something every mom of a high schooler can relate to. In fact, I promise to share some helpful hints on how to reduce the stress of standardized tests, or at least laugh your way through it.
Just in time for Mother’s Day, “NYMB… on Being A Mom” is available for purchase at our upcoming book signing, May 3, at 6 North Cafe, in Ballwin. Many of the Missouri authors will be on hand, including me, and we’d love to meet you! So come on by for a mocha latte and say hi! If you can’t make it, no worries. You can always shop on Amazon.
NYMB Editors Dahlynn and Ken McKowen, a married couple who should write their own book on how to share a successful career with your spouse, are former coauthors and editors of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series.  So they know how to assemble a collection of essays that keeps readers wanting more.
Their other NYMB titles include cats, dogs,  travel, parenting, home improvement, dieting, and families with a new book on teens currently in the works. Check out their website www.publishingsyndicate.com.Â
So get ready for Mother’s Day, and see you on May 3!
And while I’m on the subject of motherhood…Don’t forget, the following Saturday, May 10, is the second annual Listen To Your Mother, at St. Luke’s, where you’ll hear readings about motherhood live on stage. St. Louis is one of 32 cities across the country giving Mother’s Day a microphone, and each show is produced, directed, and performed by the local community, for the local community. Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend at this live stage event, which features local writers who will read their incredible stories about the beauty, the beast, and the barely rested of motherhood, from hilarious to heartbreaking. We have two shows, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., so join the fun!
